Training

The UCD Wrestling Club trains twice a week in the UCD Sports Centre, Belfield.

Wednesdays 9pm to 10pm in Hall C

Fridays 5pm to 7pm in Hall C

A typical training session involves:

Warm-up: Jogging and stretching exercises with sports-specific calisthenics such as push-ups and sit-ups.
Instructional Drills: The coach introduces and teaches the new skills or techniques for the day.
Technique Drilling: Wrestlers are paired by weight and experience and new techniques are drilled continuously. Much repetition is necessary here.
Sparring: Wrestlers are again paired with a partner of similar weight and ability and spar with one another.

- Expert coaching is provided and no previous experience is necessary.
